Today, we're going to talk about idioms
So, today, we're going to talk about five pretty idioms.
So, the first idiom, sitting pretty.
If you are sitting pretty, you are in a favourable position.
You're living in luxury or comfort.
For example, I got a promotion at work
Idiom number two, pretty as a picture.
If something is as pretty as a picture,
it means it's very nice looking or presentable.
For example, I cleaned my room,
and now it is as pretty as a picture.
Yea.
So, idiom number three is not a pretty sight.
If something isn't a pretty sight,
it means it's not nice to look at.
It could be a situation, it could be a view.
For example, this calamari isn't a pretty sight,
Okay, idiom number four is a little bit complicated.
but it's an informal phrase using the word pretty.
Pretty much means nearly, almost or more or less.
For example, I'm pretty much done with my nails.
And last, but not least, idiom number five,
If someone is not just a pretty face,
it means not only are they attractive,
but they're very intelligent, too.
but she also works as a rocket scientist.
